Dear Guest,
We are so pleased a friend, or an Ambassador from Memel.Global, brought you to us.
Where else in Africa do school children and other residents come in regular contact with Americans who are sympathetic to them and encourage them to succeed?
Beth, from Vermont, taught a young girl, Analile, the long jump.
- Analile finished 2nd in her province, earning a trip to Capetown to compete in the national track & field competition She brought sand, seashells, and a bottle of salt water home to share with her classmates, who will probably never see an ocean
- Next in line was Sipho, who became the first provincial champion from Memel
- Our Headmaster told us of his best student ever, nicknamed “Boy”, who left school without any money to continue his education, or any employment prospects. He is now the 1st black engineer, ever, from our town
- Mphakiseng was a teenage mom and high school dropout. A little boost, she went back to school, and is now the 1st black female engineer!
I hope one day you get to meet Evidence, who invited a music-loving volunteer to his shack, where Logan saw a sound studio built from electronic parts found in a dumpster.

Evvy was sent to study computers
- Jabulani received a donated guitar and started a music school
- Bright came to America to study with a Vermont carpenter and a Colorado architect he had originally been mentored by in Memel
- Luscious migrated through Africa, like so many others seeking work, apart from his wife and children. As your cook, he earned accommodation, found stability, and has been reunited with his family

Not a single one of these things would have happened without a boost from American visitors.

I really didn't know what to expect. This was not my first trip to South Africa, but this was my first to Memel - I did a little research and saw there is a big wetland next to town, so I was encouraged. The experience... the people I met here... it was all beautiful. I am taking this experience with me for the rest of my life!

I felt so very lucky to visit South Africa for the first time in my life. My experience on the Safari was magical. I saw 4 of the big 5! I saw Lion, wow! I saw Rhino and Buffalo. There was this Elephant that walked right in front of our truck - he was gorgeous!
